APPY HOUR!! Brought to you by a collective of Tastemakers & Tech
Developers. This is the freshest, new, monthly happy hour event tailored
to the world of software applications or otherwise known as APPS. Taste
makers & Tech Developers welcome the world of developers, hardware
providers, carriers, service providers, venture capitalist and more. The
second Appy Hour will be held at Eve Lounge in SF, Ca Thursday, March
10th.
The purpose of this event is to provide a community based
platform for interaction amongst the multiple individuals, groups and
organizations that co exist in this community.
March Guest Speaker:
Benjamin Taylor Art Dir Stupid Fun Club
Benjamin
Taylor is art director at the mysterious trans-media think tank, the
Stupid Fun Club in Berkeley California working directly with Will
Wright, creator of the Sims and Spore. Benjamin graduated from the
award-winning Ringling College of Art and Design and went on to earn a
masters degree from Carnegie Mellon's Entertainment Technology Center.
He has since worked on projects with Sharp Electronics Japan, Viacom,
Lockheed Martin and other companies producing electronic media. He has
also worked with clients in Germany, Japan, Australia and the United
Kingdom. Benjamin uses his creative skills not only to create games but
also to build robots and write apps and RIAs. Benjamin is also a
professor for the Game and Simulation Programming concentration at DeVry
University and regularly gives talks at various universities and
conferences.
